In Loving Memory of Shelly Maldonado

Shelly Maldonado, age 62, of Silvis, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday August 19th, 2026 at Trinity in Rock Island.

Shelly was born December 23rd, 1963, in Moline, Illinois, to James and Carol Sue (Eggleston) Alexander.

Shelly was a loving mother, grandmother (nana), daughter, sister, and friend. She had a kind heart, a strong spirit, and a love for her family that could never be measured.

She enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, music, watching movies, and traveling in her younger years. Some of her happiest moments were simply those spent surrounded by the people she loved.

Above all else, Shelly loved her family. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, love, and lessons that will continue to live on through those who knew her.

She is survived by her Significant other, Brad Jones, East Moline; Daughter, Janette Alexander (Nick Harris), East Moline; Son, Nicholas “Nick” Maldonado (Kara Blair), Milan; Grandchildren, Mackenzie Alexander, Keith Blair, Noah Maldonado, and Novahlee Maldonado; Mother, Carole Sue Alexander, Colona; Siblings, Tony (Brenda) Alexander, Dayton Corner, and Stacy Taylor, Colona. She was preceded in death by her father, James.

Van Hoe Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements and a celebration of Shelly's life will be held on September 13th, 2026 at 1pm-4pm at the Silvis Eagles Club, 911 Mansur Ave, Carbon Cliff. Family and friends are invited to gather together to share memories, celebrate her life, and honor the beautiful person she was.

Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that the love she gave us will remain forever. She will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever held in our hearts.
