Funeral services for Shirley Ann Calhoun, 71, East Moline, are 10 AM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery. Visitation is 5-7 PM Wednesday, at the funeral home. Mrs. Calhoun died Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis. A memorial fund has been established. Shirley Johnson was born May 20, 1933 in Coal Valley, the daughter of Earl and Mary (Baraks) Johnson. She married Thomas O. Calhoun, August 28, 1962 in Cedar Rapids, IA. Shirley was a professional drummer that worked with several Quad City area Country and Western Bands. She is survived by her husband Tom, sons and daughter-in-law Scott and Rhonda Calhoun, East Moline and David Calhoun, Moline, numerous grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law Jack and Darlene Johnson, East Moline, Richard and Dorothy Johnson, Moline and Robert and Bonnie Johnson, Canyon City, Colorado, and dear friends Kathy Lingren, Dorothy Hallum and Darlene Jones. Her parents and a brother William preceded her in death.
