Funeral services for Shirley M. Clauw, 94, of Silvis, IL, will be 10:00 am Friday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, IL. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 pm Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30. Mrs. Clauw died Monday, September 21, 2015, at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis. Shirley Kannenberg was born September 7, 1921, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Walter and Germaine DeKuyper Kannenberg. She married Joseph Clauw June 20, 1939, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. Joe died April 27, 2011. They owned and operated Clauw's Tavern in East Moline for 44 years, retiring in 1978. She had been a life member of St. Mary's Catholic Church until its closing. She then joined Christ the King Catholic Church. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Survivors include her daughters, Pat (Jim) Versluis, Sandy (Bill) Verlinden, JoAnne (Jerry) Buyck, and Mary Ann Gant, all of East Moline; grandchildren; Lori Larson, Mike (Vickye) Versluis, Christine (Jud) Briggs, Carrie Yeocum, Jon (Bobbi) Verlinden, Jim (Wanda) Verlinden, Joe (Gena)Verlinden, Lisa (Kelly) Breselow, Mark Buyck, Bryon (Gail) Gant, Jaymi (Tim) Belcher, Larry (Nicky) Gant, Joy (Keegan) Dodson, and Elizabeth Gant; 29 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law, Mike Gant; great grandson, Ryan; granddaughter-in-law, Suzanne; brothers, Harry and Warren Kannenberg.
