Shirley L Nickoles, 97, Moline, died Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at her home. Funeral services are 11 AM Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 1 hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or to the American Cancer Society. Shirley Smith was born September 10, 1914 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Porter and Alta (Timmerman) Smith. She married Kenny Bevins and together they had two children. She later married Olan Nickoles. He preceded her in death. Shirley retired in the early 1970's as an office worker from the Rock Island Arsenal. She enjoyed camping and traveling until her health no longer allowed. Survivors include her children, Barb (Red) Coggins, Moline, and Jim (Jo) Bevins, Vienna, VA, grandchildren, Terry Coggins, Kim Hill and Rae Carlson, great-grandchildren, Jay, Crystal, and Alexandra and great-great-grandchildren, Branden, Kali and Ethan.
