Funeral services for Shirley M. Stombaugh, 74, Silvis, are 11 AM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7PM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Shirley died Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Clarissa Cook Hospice, Bettendorf. Shirley was born March 3, 1935 in Missouri, the daughter of Louis and Mathilda Runge. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in St. Louis Missouri. Shirley married Harry D. Stombaugh on April 1, 1954 in Vandalia, IL. He died September 12, 1999. She retired from the dietary department at the former Oak Glen Nursing Home, Coal Valley. She enjoyed doing crafts and was a Red Hat Lady. Survivors include her children and their spouses; Deborah and T.A. Lee of Winona, Minnesota, Keith and Dawn Stombaugh of Colona and Ronald Stombaugh of Rock Island, grandchildren (spouses); David (Julie) Stombaugh, Dana (Rick) Armstrong, Scott Erickson, Mark (Crystal) Erickson, Josh Martin, Dustin (Ruth) Lee, and Mackenzie Lee, and great grandchildren; Tyler, Torie, Eva, Dallas and Brandon.
