Shirley A. Taulbee, 87, of Moline, formerly of Colona, passed away Monday, September 22, 2025, at Charter Assisted Living, Moline.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. The funeral service will be live-streamed and may be viewed at https://vimeo.com/1122690233/b78a5138a2 at service time on Tuesday or via the link below in the Service Information. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Monday, September 29, 2025, at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Alzheimer's Association.

Shirley was born on October 8, 1937, in Geneseo, the daughter of Kenneth and Helen (Catour) Beverlin.  She married Marion Taulbee on December 31, 1955, in East Moline.  Shirley retired from the Daily Dispatch in 1988.  Shirley and her late husband, Marion, took frequent road trips, especially in the fall to see the beautiful foliage.  One of their favorite places to visit was Door County, Wisconsin.  She enjoyed reading, flower gardening, and going to lunch with her friends.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Shirley is survived by her children, Alan (Mary) Taulbee, Rock Island, Lisa (Craig) Tillman, Colona, Kari (Ken Unger) Bensenville, IL, Brian Taulbee, Colona, and Scott (Lori) Taulbee, Colona; grandchildren, Jacob, Zachary, Aimee, Adam, Brittany, Bradley, Holly, Joshua, Meghan, Derek, Vanessa, and Adam; and 19 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; siblings, Nancy, Kenneth, Gerald, and Karen; and great grandson, Shawn.
