Shirley R. Wilkinson, 87, of East Moline, IL, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022 at Genesis-Illini Campus, Silvis.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 12, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, with visitation one hour prior to services. Interment will be in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to QC Paws.

Shirley was born April 20, 1935 in Floris, Iowa, a daughter of J. Harry and Iva Turner Hancock. She married Jack Wilkinson on August 15, 1954 in Floris. He preceded her in death on January 18, 1969.

Shirley started working at Two Rivers YMCA, Moline, IL in 1974 and became Membership Secretary, retiring in 2000. She then returned to the YMCA on a part time basis until 2008.

She was a member of Two Rivers YMCA. She enjoyed water aerobics, going to concerts, music of all kinds, shopping, eating out, cats and giraffes. She had a wonderful memory for names and details.

Surviving are her children, Sherry (Lynn) Burris, John (Sonnam) Wilkinson, Phil (Alison) Wilkinson, and Dan (Georgia) Wilkinson. Grand children Brian (June) Wilkinson, Shannon (Bryce) Hunt and Jack Wilkinson. Great grandchildren Trace and Wayne Wilkinson, and Emelia Hunt.  Fourteen nephews and 2 nieces.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers and two sisters.
