Sophie V. Krajewski, 94, formerly of Silvis, passed away on November 7, 2016 in Houston, TX. Funeral services are 10 AM Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 4-6PM Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30 PM. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where she was a member. Sophie Smolenski was born on August 31, 1922 in East Moline, the daughter of Stanley and Berniece (Ciesielski) Smolenski. She married Ted Krajewski at Holy Trinity Catholic Church Moline on October 19, 1946. He died in 1976. Sophie had worked at Moline Iron Works, the Rock Island Arsenal and the former International Harvester Works, East Moline. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and doing crafts. Since 2009, she resided in Houston, Tx with her son & daughter-in-law. Survived by her son Dr. Kenneth Krajewski Houston, TX and niece Judy Mitton. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Andrew Kennedy, daughter-in-law Destarte Kennedy Krajewski, and siblings; Bernice, John, Mary, Joseph, Stanley and Anthony; nephew Alan Niedzwiecki.
