Funeral services for Spiros J. Pappaspiros, 82, of Moline, IL, will be 10:00 am Thursday, at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. IL. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 pm Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a Trisagion Service will be held at 6:00 pm. Mr. Pappaspiros died Saturday, October 3, 2015, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA. Spiros was born September 15, 1933, in East Moline, IL, the son of James and Louise Vyhnanek Mpachiakos. He served in the US Navy. He married Carol J. Barr November 4, 1956, in San Diego, CA. He was an accountant at the John Deere Foundry, East Moline, retiring in 1987, after 21 years of service. He enjoyed playing golf and going to breakfast with his UTHS classmates. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Carol J. Pappaspiros, Moline; sister-in-law, Marcia Stevenson; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
