Funeral services for Stella Dorothy Lampo, 87, Silvis, are 10AM Saturday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7PM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, with a rosary recited at 6:30PM. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church or to the Activity fund at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis. Stella died Monday, July 11, 2011 at OSF St. Francis Hospital, Peoria. Stella Gelande was born December 23, 1923 in East Moline, the daughter of Cyriel and Irma (DeTombe) Gelande. She married John J. Lampo on January 25, 1947 in East Moline. He died March 2, 2002. Stella made ammunition during WWII, worked at the former Y&S Candies, Moline and later worked as a housekeeper at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline until 1973. Mrs. Lampo was a life long member of St. Mary's Church, East Moline and a member of the Altar and Rosary Societies. She enjoyed playing bingo, working jigsaw puzzles, board games, bowling, crocheting and an occasional trip to the casino boats. Survivors include her children (spouses); Donald (Vera) Lampo, Montpelier, IA, Margaret (Jim) Lampo Bull, Port Byron, IL, and Anna (Bob) Lampo Parker, Smithville, TX, ten grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband John, brothers Maurice Gelande and Albert Gelande and an infant sister Germaine.
