Steven Wayne Teeter, 60, of Rock Island passed away on June 18, 2023 at home, as he wanted.

Steven was born in Rock Island on June 11, 1963. He had a long and varied career, taking on multiple positions throughout his lifetime.

He worked as a Machine Operator at Ther-a-pedic, Lock Technician at Quint City Security, Mechanic/Assembler at McLaughlin, and finished his career as an Assembler at Eaton.

Steven was a beloved grandfather, father, husband, son, brother, friend and provider.

He had many talents and was a Jack of all trades, excelling at guitar, mechanics, art, poetry and intelligence.

People that knew him enjoyed his humorous nature and his realism. He was proud,  humble and dedicated,  knowing when to take a punch and when to throw one.

He was passionate about his family, his Fords, his guitars, wood working and tinkering with things.

He was drawn to music, often playing his guitars and creating his own songs.

He could be heard strumming a tune in his free time and singing along. He was a die hard Beatles fan and a member of the KISS Army.

He also enjoyed playing videogames as well as working on cars and motorcycles.

Steven is survived by his loving wife, Carrie Ann Teeter of 40 years;

his children, Shannon Marie Duarte, William Joseph Teeter (Heather), Steven Michael Teeter And Destiny Ann McKinley (Anthony); and his grandchildren, Mario, Kameryn, William Jr., Carter, Bella, Serenity, Kaiden, Bennett and Kaias.

A visitation in honor of Steven will be 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Friday, June 23, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline.

The family has asked that all flowers, donations and contributions of charity or expressions of condolences be sent to 3340 lot 38 44th Ave, Moline IL, 61265.
