Sue Anna Zaehringer Sodeman, 59, East Moline, died Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Trinity Bettendorf, after a brief battle with Cancer. Visitation will be 5-8PM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Friday at the funeral home, with burial following at Rock Island National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family. Sue was born on June 2, 1952 in Muscatine, IA, to Vincent and Anna Louise Zaehringer. She married Douglas Sodeman on February 14, 1970. Doug was the Love of her life and was by her side for 41 years. Sue will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, with a kind heart and devotion to her family. She enjoyed NASCAR, gardening, travel, motorcycle rides, sunshine, fashion and her pets. She was a very young spirit which will be missed by all who loved her. She had worked as a store manager at Sears Optical Moline for 12 years. She is survived by her husband, Doug, children; Rick (Darlene) Sodeman, Rock Island, Kimberly Sodeman, East Moline, Misty Sodeman, Moline and Doug (Trish) Sodeman Jr., Silvis and her grandson Coltton who was like a son to her, as well as grandchildren; Brianna, Devin, Caitlin, Chase, Jack, Corey, Breatny and Ryan. Brothers; Allen (Andrea) Zaehringer, Cocoa, FL, Harold Zaehringer, Bettendorf, Robert Zaehringer, Wappelo, IA and sister Terry (Tony) Campagna, East Moline. She was very close to her nieces Trina Welge and Tara Robinson and had many other nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents.
