Susan E. "Susie" Cutkomp, 57, of East Moline, passed away Wednesday May 30, 2018 at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City after a long fought battle with an extended illness. Funeral services are 10:00AM Monday June 4, 2018 at Van Hoe Funeral Home, Ltd., in East Moline. Visitation will be held from 1:00PM to 4:00PM Sunday June 3, 2018 at the funeral home, where memorials may be made to Team Becky (Rock Out A Cure) for childhood cancer research. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in East Moline. Susie was born June 21, 1960 in Rock Island, a daughter of Charles and Caroline (Shelangouski) Anderson. She graduated from Alleman High School in 1978 and later married Darrel Cutkomp. She had worked for the Moline Public Hospital in the laboratory for 10 years, owned a small neighborhood grocery store, and also loved working as a bus driver for the Silvis School District. Susan was a natural caregiver and mother to others. She enjoyed working outdoors, especially on her yard. She also loved camping and being "Scout Mom" for many years with Boy Scout Troop #113 in Silvis. Additionally, she had served as a Commissioner for the Saukenauk District of the ILLOWA Council BSA, through which both of her sons made Eagle Scout. She had also participated in LIVESTRONG at the YMCA Program. Sue will always be remembered by her sense of humor and energy. Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Darrel; 2 children: Cody (Marissa Robertson) Cutkomp and Corey Cutkomp; a sister: Linda (Jeff) Boyle and a brother and sister-in-law Denny (Jan) Anderson; all of East Moline, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 infant siblings: Michael and Cheryl and her niece: Becky.
