Funeral services for Sylvia Gillan, 75, East Moline, are 10 AM Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Estate, Moline. Visitation is 4-7 PM Friday at the funeral home. Sylvia died Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at her home, surrounded by her family. Memorials may be made to Winnies Place Womens Shelter. Sylvia Stacey was born December 1, 1934 in Moline, IL, the daughter of Sylvester and Estelle (VandeBeck) Stacey. She married Dale Gillan in Clinton, IA. She had worked as a bartender at several area taverns including J&J Tap and the Lil Cowbell. Sylvia enjoyed ceramics, flower gardening, playing cards and bird watching. Survivors include her husband of over 40 years, Dale, daughters and sons-in-law Joan Gargano, Moline, Maxine and Jim VanWick of Broadview, IL, Stacey and Richard Roberts, East Moline and Lory and Andrew DuPrey of East Moline, grandchildren: Heidi Meadows, Michelle Gargano, April Propps, Ashton Propps, Melissa Graham, Michael Somone II, Kayla DuPrey and Andrea DuPrey, 6 great grandchildren, sisters Donna Clark, Silvis and Sandy Deno, FL, brothers Jack Stacey, Rapids City, IL, and Joe DeJaegher, East Moline, and special friends Diane and Kara Birlew. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Ed Stacey and her daughter Estelle Goulet
