Terri M. Grove, 59, of East Moline, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA. Funeral services celebrating her life will be 1:00 pm Monday at First Christian Church (Disciples), East Moline. The Rev. William F. Coley and Rev. Dr. Christal Williams will officiate. Visitation will be 3:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, and 1 hour prior to services Monday at First Christian Church (Disciples). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to CCIW Church Camp Scholarships, First Christian Church (Disciples) East Moline or Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Terri was born on July 25, 1957, in Indianapolis IN, the firstborn child of John R. & Shirley D. Grove and the oldest grandchild on both sides of the family tree.  Following moves to Marshalltown & Muscatine, IA, East Moline, IL and Lansdale, PA, Terri's family returned to East Moline, IL in 1970 where she graduated from United Township High School in 1975. After a short stint with Norandex, Terri embarked on a 30-plus year career providing outstanding, dedicated service to her banking customers - beginning with The Rock Island Bank.  Not only did Terri acquire lifelong friends through her association with her co-workers, she also developed a strong rapport with her customers that continued after her departure from that career path. As much as Terri cherished the relationships she developed during her banking career, she truly came into her own when she become employed by CCIW - Christian Church of Illinois and Wisconsin – the regional church office that she had been associated with throughout her long membership in First Christian Church (Disciples) East Moline.  The understanding and compassion demonstrated by her associates at CCIW during her seemingly countless treatments for tracheal stenosis and, subsequently, cancer certainly lightened the burden of the health and physical ordeals and setbacks she encountered over the past four years. Terri drew great strength from her faith in God.  Throughout the years, she served on numerous church committees, was active in Christian Women's Fellowship, served as a Youth Group Leader & as a Sunday school teacher.  She worked tirelessly with a dedicated group of local Disciples (DUQC) to bring a senior housing establishment in Moline to fruition.  However, one of Terri's greatest joys was spending one week of her vacation every year serving as a Church Camp Counselor/Leader/Director at Pilgrim Park in Princeton, IL. A large portion of the other 51 weeks each year was dedicated to developing/acquiring materials and projects to ensure each camp experience was rewarding and inspirational.  In recent years, Terri became an active member of the East Moline-Silvis Kiwanis Club after providing volunteer support through her dad's own long-term membership. Terri always enjoyed traveling and seeing the country in an RV with her parents and working with her sister for several years to make the annual Rambo Family Reunion an entertaining success.  Although Terri definitely was not the biggest sports fan, she tolerated her family's interests by watching and/or attending Cardinals & Cubs games, Kansas City Chiefs games and the U.S. Open tennis tournament (from near the top of Arthur Ashe stadium, no less!).  Terri was very happy that her brother got bragging rights in consecutive years due to the recent World Series successes of the KC Royals and the Chicago Cubs.  She shared her sister's love of the theater (maybe not as obsessively) and enjoyed sight-seeing vacations to England, New York and Washington, DC that included requisite shows in the West End, on Broadway and at the Kennedy Center & Wolf Trap. Terri will be deeply missed by her father, Bob, East Moline; sister, Tina, East Moline; brother, Todd, Kansas City, MO; great aunt Betty; aunts and uncles: Linda, Bill, Homer, Marilyn, Cynthia, Mabel, Barbara, Howard, Vivian & Annette; the sixteen cousins that followed her (and their families): Cindy, Kevin, Jerry, Allen, David G, Colin, Mike, Gayle, Jeff, Vickie, Ray, Jamie, David H, Greg, Howard, Chuck & Gina; numerous second cousins and their families; and special friends:  Deb & Mark, Steve & Lynne, Kay, Nancy, Mary, Penni, Christal and Jonathan. She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley, in 2012; her maternal grandparents, Fred & Ruth Rambo; her paternal grandparents, J. Harold & Lois Grove; and uncles, Jim Stiner & Dick Grove. The family wishes to to extend a special thanks to Terri's doctors & staff, Dr. Costas Constantinou in the Quad Cities and Dr. Dale Mueller at Heartcare Midwest & OSF in Peoria, for the care and compassion provided to Terri over the past four years.  A very special extension of gratitude is offered to the nurses and aides at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for the  outstanding care and compassion Terri received during the final five and a half weeks of Terri's earthly journey; what a blessing to have you in our lives!
