Thelma Rosalie (Rosie) Harvey, 94, of East Moline, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Hope Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, East Moline.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday August 25th at Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday August 24th at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the global mission fund through Christ United Methodist Church.
Rosie was born on November 28, 1930, in Astoria, IL, the daughter of John and Mary (Burgard) Baum. She married Billy (Bill) G. Harvey on June 26, 1949, in Moline. Rosie worked her way up from the breakfast/lunch counter at Woolworths to Chief Financial Officer and part owner of Contracting Corporation of Illinois (CCI). She enjoyed cooking, traveling, quilting and sewing. Rosie and Bill Retired to Columbus, Texas where they spent many years traveling back and forth between Illinois in the Spring/Summer and in Texas for the Fall/Winter. They were members of the Methodist NOMADS and traveled all over the US (including Alaska) running their race and furthering God's kingdom on earth. Rosie also traveled Internationally to Haiti and Bolivia on various mission trips.
Rosie is survived by her children, Donna J. (Charles) Fox, East Moline, James M. (Debbie) Harvey, Odessa, MO, and Randall S. (Robin) Harvey, Cedar Park, TX; sister, Judith Ann Kellogg; brother, Robert (JoAnn) Baum; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; numerous great-great, and great-great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and 10 siblings.
