Thelma R. Stewart, 63, of Moline, IL, died Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. Visitation will be 4-6 PM Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL, where a service will be held at 6:00PM. Memorials may be made to the family. Thelma Chase was born April 21, 1944 in Oelwein, IA, the daughter of Raymond and Galen (Shepperd) Chase. She married Herbert Whittington in 1966 in Colona, IL. She later married Robert Stewart May 28, 1989 in Calico Rock, Arkansas. After 20 years in the Calico Rock area she and her husband moved back to Moline to be with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed going to yard sales and looking for antiques. She loved to play cards and bingo. She was a wonderful gardener, her favorite things to plant were tomatoes and flowers. She loved her grandchildren and her dogs. Survivors include: her husband, Robert Stewart of Moline; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Michael Shull of Moline; son, Brent Whittington of Moline; grandchildren, Kenzie and Kaiden Whittington; sister and brother-in-law, Randa and Dale Burkhead of Muscatine, IA; brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Julie Chase of Durant, IA; special friend, Shari LaGace of Davenport, IA.
