Funeral services for Theodore "Ted" Lapaczonek, 80 of Coal Valley, IL, will be 10:00 am Tuesday at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Coal Valley. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 pm Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30. Ted died Friday, November 10, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Ted was born June 19, 1937, in East Moline, IL, the son of Andrej and Angeline Hamala Lapaczonok. He married Mary Ann Weinert August 22, 1959, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. He worked at the former International Harvester, East Moline, and retired from Tri-City Heat Treat Rock Island. Ted was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. The most important thing in his life was his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mary Ann Lapaczonek, Coal Valley; children, Laurie Swanson, Alpha, IL, Linda (Bill) Minas, Colona, IL, Jim (Sue) Lapaczonek, Bettendorf, IA, David (Amy) Lapaczonek, Coal Valley; grandchildren, Sarah (Jason) Schumaker, Jacob Swanson, Jared Swanson, Angela Minas, Drew Minas, Nick Lapaczonek, Colin Lapaczonek, Rachel Lapaczonek, Russell Hoffman, Ethan Lapaczonek, Mason Lapaczonek, Kaden Lapaczonek; great grandchildren, Lucas Swanson, Lorianne Schumaker, Lucy Schumaker; sister, Joann Stalf, Delaware, OH; brother-in-laws and sisters-in-laws; Brad and Betty Wilkerson, Blue Grass, IA, Joe and Sue Weinert, Geneseo, Vince and Rita Weinert, East Moline: many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cully and Toots Weinert; brothers-in-law, Robert Stalf and James Weinert, aunt and uncle, Anna and Stanley Smolenski; nephew, Matthew Wilkerson; and cousin Theresa Daniels.
