Theodore Cruz, 57, Geneseo, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 surrounded by his family, at OSF St. Francis Hospital, Peoria. Funeral services are 10 AM Monday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation is 2-5PM Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Ted was born October 16, 1957 in Moline, the son of Lupe and Bea (Valle) Cruz. He graduated from UTHS class of 1976. He retired from John Deere in 2010. He enjoyed playing golf, listening to music, especially Santana, and watching his favorite teams; St. Louis Cardinals, the Dallas Cowboys and the Fighting Illini. He dearly loved the time spent with his nieces and nephews. Survivors include his mother Bea, Silvis, his dog, Hercules, siblings, James (Pat) Cruz, Graham, WA, Cathleen Fenton, Swansea, IL, (twin brother) Thomas (Linda) Cruz, East Moline, Cynthia Swanson, Silvis, and Cheryl (Darrell) Priebe, Silvis, his special friend Christa Hocker, Geneseo, and a host of extended family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father, and brother-in-law, Kevin Swanson.
