Funeral services for Theresa Chickris, 95, lifelong resident of East Moline, IL, will be 11:00AM Wednesday at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, East Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Theresa died Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, where she had been a lifelong member. Theresa was born March 27, 1917 in East Moline, the daughter of Peter and Alexandra Triandafilakis Chickris. She was a graduate of United Township High School, East Moline. She retired from the former Tri-City Food Store, East Moline after many years of service. She had been an active member of the Philoptochos Society at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. Theresa enjoyed bowling, crossword puzzles, crocheting, and had been an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Fan. Survivors include her sister, Bessie Dell, East Moline; nieces and nephews, Michelle Chickris, Ajaccio, Corsica, France, Greg (Jan) Chickris, Silvis, Jim (Diane) Kapalis, Bettendorf, IA, Alexis Allen, West Bend, WI, George Dell, Oswego, IL, Sue Dell, Rock Island, IL, David (Missy) Dell, East Moline, Colette (Rev. Anastasios) Bourantas, Wilmington, DE, and Peter Chickris, Houston, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Jennie Kapalis, Sue Chickris, brothers, George, Michael, and Chris Chickris.
