Funeral services for Theresa H. Cruz, 84, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 am Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, IL. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 pm Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., where a rosary will be recited at 3:00 pm. Mrs. Cruz died Saturday, October 27, 2018, at her home. Theresa Cacari was born October 15, 1934, in Horton, KS, the daughter of Geronimo and Mary Garcia Cacari. She attended St. Mary's Catholic School, East Moline, and United Township High School. She married Jesse D. Cruz January 8, 1955 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. She worked for the Illinois Secretary of State, Driver License Division and later worked for the Department of Army Federal Service – Civil Servant, retiring September 27, 1996. Theresa was a devout Catholic. She enjoyed crocheting, going to the casino, and helping others. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Jesse Cruz, East Moline; son, Jeff Cruz, Moline, IL; siblings, Ramona (Larry) Stone Sr., Rose (Rocky) Valdevia, Georgia Rocha, Jerry Cacari and Paul Cacari; sisters-in-law, Sally, Benita and Irene Cacari; many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, friends; and her dog, Angel. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jesse Cruz Jr.; sisters, Lupe (Ray) Urruthia, Elizabeth (Henry) Reyes; brothers, Pete, Jack, and Max Cacari; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Cacari; brother-in-law, Rudy Rocha; and one of her favorite dogs, Samantha.
