Funeral services for Therman Lee Gosa Sr., 69, Rapids City, are 10 AM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Hampton Township Cemetery, Hampton. Visitation is 4-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Gosa died Monday, April 25, 2005 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis. A memorial fund has been established. Therman was born December 11, 1935 in Lamar County, AL, the son of Ottie and Minnie (Guyton) Gosa. He married Catherine DeMink, February 21, 1959 in Rock Island. Mr. Gosa retired as a heat and frost insulator from Local 81, Cedar Rapids, IA. He loved spending time with and teasing his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing cribbage and shooting pool, or just going for a drive. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Catherine, children Therman Gosa Jr., East Moline, Carol Parker, Silvis and David Gosa, Rapids City, eleven grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 3 more on the way, sisters Wila Reyes, Moline and Faye Young, Beaverton, AL and brothers Clement Gosa, Colona and his twin Herman Gosa, Hampton. His daughter Melinda Dopler-Reid who died April 4, 2003, his parents and a brother Ray, precedes him in death.
