A memorial mass for Rev. Thomas J. Kloppenborg, formerly of East Moline, IL, will be held at 6:30 PM Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. Fr. Kloppenborg, was fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Saturday, July 21, 2007. Funeral services were held at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, St. Louis, MO. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery, St. Louis. Memorials may be made to help support the Kabera Slums, or St. Vincent Seminary, Kenya, Africa. Fr. Kloppenborg was born October 5, 1951 in Rock Island, IL, beloved son of Theodore and Dolores Kloppenborg (nee Berndt). Loving brother of Julie (Terrence) Olson, Tim Kloppenborg and Ted P. Kloppenborg. Fr. Kloppenborg professed his religious vows in 1978 and was ordained to the Priesthood in 1991. He was Associate Pastor from 1978 to 1980 at St. Vincent DePaul, Chicago and from 1980-1982 at St. Vincent DePaul in St. Louis, MO; Assistant Treasurer, St. Thomas Seminary, Denver, CO from 1983 to 1987; Treasurer, St. Mary of the Barrens, Perryville, MO from 1987 to 1993; Pastor, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cheyenne Wells, CO from 1993 to 2002; Regional Treasurer, Midwest Province from 2002 to 2005 and most recently Treasurer, DePaul Center, Kenya, Africa.
