Thomas R. Lanier, 60, East Moline, died Sunday, June 17, 2007 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis. A memorial visitation is 2-4PM Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. At Tom's request his body has been cremated and private inurnment is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the All Animal Humane Society, Milan or to the Quad-City Greyhound Adoption program. Tom was born January 30, 1947 in Miami, FL, the son of William and Jean Lanier. Mr. Lanier received a bachelor's in Engineering from the University of Southern Florida. He served in the US Air Force and was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam Era. Tom had worked in management for many companies throughout the US and most recently as general manager at CharNor, Milan for the past 2 years. Survivors include daughters Barbara Lanier, Thousand Oaks, CA and Tawnia Foye, Simi Valley, CA, three grandchildren and his fiancée, Penny Schierling, East Moline.
