Obituary

Funeral services for Timothy Allen Hay, 52, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, IL. Mr. Hay died Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at OSF Hospital, Peoria, IL. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 3:00-7:00PM Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00PM. Timothy was born September 1, 1962, in Moline, IL, the son of David Russell and Esperanza (Hope) Sierra Hay. He had been a union carpenter for 25 years, working out of the Carpenters Local #166. He loved sports, whether it was running, basketball, football, karate, or going to the YMCA. He had coached basketball for his son, with his brother. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his family and especially his son and brother. He enjoyed going to concerts and listening to music with his family. He served in the US Navy for 4 years and had travelled to 38 states. He was a loving man. Survivors include his daughter, Amy Marie Hay, FL; son, Nathan Hay, at home; significant other, Stephanie Richards, East Moline; grandmother, Jesus "Jessie" Sierra, Silvis; sisters, Carmen Hay-Kent, WI, Maria (Tommy) Hay Grumadas, Silvis and Lisa (Donald) Hay-Tarrant, East Moline; brother, David (Candace) Hay, Moline; 12 nieces and nephews; and 19 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandfather, Amador Sierra; Godfather, Rosendo I. Terronez; cousin; Timothy "Julio" Trujilo; niece, Victora Hay-Gulick; great niece, Angel Marie Hurd; and life long friend, Jody Durbin.
