Funeral services for Todd J. Hemphill, 36, of Carbon Cliff, IL, formerly of Colona, IL, will be 1:00PM Saturday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 11:00AM - 1:00PM Saturday at the funeral home. Private committal services will be held at a later date. Mr. Hemphill died Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. A memorial fund has been established. Todd was born May 8, 1972 in Moline, IL, the son of Bob and Sandi (Lydon) Hemphill. He married Tricia Booth November 10, 2003 in Rock Island, IL. He had worked as a mechanic for Snipes Ford Dealership in Goldsboro, NC. Todd was an inspiration to all despite a car accident in 1994 that subsequently left him a paraplegic. He lived his life without disability. He was an avid Chicago Bears Fan. He loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. Survivors include: his wife, Tricia Hemphill of Carbon Cliff; son, Darrin Linder of Rock Island; mother and stepfather, Sandi and Denny Stanek of Colona; father and stepmother, Bob and Jeannie Hemphill of Colona; grandparents, Bob and Betty Hemphill of FL; sister and fiancé, Dennelle Stanek and Jack Miller of Colona; brothers and sister-in-law, Ryan and Kim Hemphill of Silvis, IL, Derek Hemphill of Washington DC, Mark Stanek Fredricksen of Milwaukee, WI. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Diana Duncan, grandfather, Bob Lydon, great grandparents, Mildred and Edwin Stanek, Frank and Viola Ammerman, brother, Brian Stanek Fredricksen and 3 infant brothers.
