Travis L. Wood, 79, of Hampton, Ill., died Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at the Towerhill Healthcare Center, Elgin, Ill.  A funeral service will be 10 am Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Avenue, Rock Island.  Visitation will be from 4-6 pm Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.  The funeral and visitation are both under the direction of Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline.  Burial will take place at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, where military honors will be conducted.  Memorials may be made in care of the Alzheimer's Association.

Travis was born in Everton, Arkansas on April 27, 1943, a son of Loy and Barbara Hall Wood.  He graduated from United Township High School, East Moline, in 1961.

Travis married Sharry Good on October 22, 1969.  He was a U.S. Army veteran.  Travis retired from John Deere Harvester as machinist in 2004.

Travis loved to play golf and watch horse racing.  He was a die-hard St. Louis Cardinal fan.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sharry Wood, Hampton, Ill.; son, Todd (Josette) Wood; grandchildren, Kelsey Tubbs, Travis Tubbs, Jacob Wood, Elliana Wood and Alexia Wood; great-grandson, Trayce Charlett; siblings, Imodell (Elmer) Stewart, Loy (Jackie) Wood, Nell (Jim) Werner and Gay (Lew) Rees; and son-in-law, Karl Tubbs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Tonya Tubbs and siblings, Willodean Sullivan, Frieda Sharp, Vernon Wood and Larry Mitchell "Mickey" Wood.
