Funeral services for Triphon L. DeDoncker,93, of East Moline, IL, will be 11:00 am Tuesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 9-10:30 am Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Triphon was born in Belgium on December 4, 1923, the only child of Leopold and Celina DeRiviere DeDoncker, who emigrated to Canada before settling in East Moline. He served in the US Army during World War II, after which he worked at John Deere Harvester Works until retirement. Triphon was an original thinker with a great sense of humor and vast curiosity. He enjoyed reading, especially about space exploration, science and history. He liked kids and loved dogs. Though he left no immediate family, he became a part of the families of dear friends Jesse and Theresa Cruz, Jean Carlson and Richard Kerckhove, who cherish his memory as do many others who came to know him.
