Obituary

Urban "Tony" Praught, Silvis, died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Trinity Rock Island. Funeral services are 10:00 AM Monday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Entombment is in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation is 2:00-5:00PM Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 2PM. Memorials may be made to Michael J. Fox Foundation or the Alzheimer's Foundation. Tony was born April 10, 1933 in Grand River, Prince Edward Island, Canada, the son of Sanctinus and Minnie (Peters) Praught. He married Marie Rose Eliana Bray, on March 7, 1964 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. He retired as a maintenance welder from John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline. He enjoyed wintering with his wife in Clearwater, FL. Tony served in the Canadian Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Praught enjoyed horse races, gardening, and playing cards. Survivors include his wife, Marie; sons and daughters-in-law, Bryan and Andrea Praught, Naperville, IL, Joseph and Michelle Praught, Eldridge, IA and Jerome and Molly Praught, Moline; ten grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Raspa, North Carolina, Gladys Panzl, Lillian Rogers, both of Canada, Irene Conn, New York and Trudy DeLarosa, East Moline; brothers, Jack Praught and Bill Praught, Canada. In addition to his parents Sanctinus and Minnie Praught, Tony is preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Wilbert Praught and a sister Edith Whitney.
