Funeral services for Verba I. Johnson, 78, Allegan, MI, formerly of Hampton, IL, will be 2:00 pm Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hampton Cemetery, Hampton, IL. Mrs. Johnson died Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at Bronson Methodist Hospital, in Kalamazoo, MI. Verba Hubbard was born August 12, 1939, in Golconda, IL, the daughter of Milas and Alpha Banks Hubbard. She married Arlie Patton August 25, 1955, they had 5 children. They later divorced. She was a nurses aid working at various local nursing homes. She loved spending time with with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She and her companion of 20 years, Danny Danner enjoyed camping and boating. Survivors include her children, Arletta (Joe) Walker-Yost, Allegan, MI, Irene (Larry) Walker, Tucson, AZ, Arlie "Eugene" Patton, Metropolis, IL, Jim Patton, Metropolis,IL; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents,daughter Pansy Patton, great granddaughter, Jordan, brothers, Milas Jr, Harold, and Robert "Gene" Hubbard, sister Shirley Rains, and her long time companion, Danny Danner. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family.
