Verlon Daggett, 85, of Moline, IL, died Sunday September 4, 2016, at Amber Ridge, Moline. A memorial visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in Union Church Cemetery, Cord, AR, at a later date. Verlon Melton was born March 11, 1931, in Saffell, AR, the daughter of Raymond and Alma Godwin Melton. She married Leoman Daggett July 6, 1949, in Cord. He died in 1976. Verlon enjoyed going to yard sales, gardening and cleaning her house. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her sons, Randall Daggett, East Moline, IL, and Russell (Marty) Daggett, Forest City, IA; grandchildren, Sarah Nuehring, CA, Emily Daggett, Forest City, IA; siblings, Geraldine Parsons, Ash Flats, AR, Delbert (Modine) Melton, Saffell, and Elbert (Lauraetta) Melton, Smithville, AR; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
