Funeral services for Verlon E. Ogle, 80, of Colona, IL, will be 10:00 AM Monday at St. Peter's Evangelical Community Church, Geneseo, IL. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 2:00-5:00PM Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Mr. Ogle died Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Rosewood Health Care Center, Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Evangelical Community Church or the Parkinson Foundation. Mr. Ogle was born July 8, 1928 in Purden, MO, the son of Eddie and Versie (Spencer) Ogle. He married Beverly Renner June 18, 1950 in Rock Island, IL. She died in 1974. He served in the US Army National Guard 2nd Battalion 123rd Field Artillery Service Battery during the Korean Conflict. Verlon had been a maintenance repairman for John Deere Harvester, East Moline, where he retired in 1985 after 38 years of service. Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Lloyd Sanders of Colona, IL, Marcia and Mike Harkness of Moline, IL; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Von Dean and Bob Mollenhauer of Alhambra, CA, Betty Philiponis of Moline, Bonnie Schwartz of Moline; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Geraldine Steele of Moline.
