Funeral services for Verna M. Carpio, 86 of Moline, IL, will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Mrs. Carpio died Sunday, November 18, 2007 at Aledo Rehab and Health Care, Aledo, IL. Memorials may be made to the family. Verna Anderson was born May 10, 1921 in Milan, IL, the daughter of Axel and Mabel (Manthe) Anderson. She married Cecil Pettit in 1941. He passed away. She later married Frank Carpio May 12, 1973. He died August 2, 1999. She had served in the US WACS during WWII. She had worked at the former McCabes, Rock Island, IL. She was a Chicago Cubs Fan and a Bears Fan. She enjoyed dancing, dining out, and going places. She loved the holidays. Survivors include: her son, Everett Pettit of Rock Island; sister, Doris McMullen of East Moline; brothers and sisters-in-law, Glen and Doris Anderson of Hemet, CA, Ray Anderson of Moline, Jim and Joyce Anderson of Milan; sisters-in-law, Bea Anderson Silvis, IL, Delma Anderson, Coyne Center, IL; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
