Funeral services for Veronica Ripley, 84, of Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Thursday at Bethel Assembly of God Church, Rock Island, IL. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00PM Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Mrs. Ripley died Sunday, December 06, 2009 at the home of her daughter. Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice 2535 Maplecrest Rd. Suite 4 Bettendorf, IA 52722. Veronica Holmes was born July 12, 1925 in Liverpool, England the daughter of George and Jane Hume Holmes. She married Wayne H. Ripley May 17, 1945 in Liverpool. Veronica loved God with all of her heart, mind, and soul and demonstrated this love with unending acts of kindness and TLC for her family and friends in the US and England. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Wayne Ripley of Moline, daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Ted Zehelein of Bettendorf, Maureen and Dan Shaner of Springfield, IL; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Debbie Ripley of Wheaton, IL; grandchildren, Chris (Shanon) Reedy, Kim (Larry) Larson, Darren Reedy, Jennifer (Dave Webb) Clark, Andrea (Ryan) Wilson, Matt Ripley, Mark (Jenny) Ripley, Christian Ripley, Greg Ripley; great grandchildren, Ella and Ethan Reedy, Olivia Larson, Blaire and Camryn Clark, Jackson Webb, Kate Wilson and Alayna Ripley; sister, Teresa Parsons of Northport, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Norbert and Pat Holmes of Liverpool; sisters-in-law, Mary Holmes of Moline, Flo Holmes of Liverpool; and 27 nieces and nephews.
