Victor Flores, 59, of East Moline, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 12, 2026, entering into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Victor was born on September 20, 1966, in San Juan, Texas, to Ramon and Guadalupe (Lopez) Flores. In 1972, his family relocated to Rock Island, Illinois, where Victor grew up and planted deep roots. He was a proud graduate of Rock Island High School and went on to earn an Associate Degree in Accounting from Black Hawk College. Victor valued his independence highly and maintained it with determination until the very end.
One of Victor’s greatest joys was serving his church community, where he was a dedicated and familiar face serving as an Usher. His faith was the cornerstone of his life; he entered into home hospice care with absolute confidence and trust, knowing he would be taken home with Jesus when the Lord called him.
Victor was a man of vibrant passions. During the summers, he could be found outdoors tending to his impressive garden, a testament to his patience and care. He was also a lifelong sports enthusiast and an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Quad Cities River Bandits.
Above all, Victor adored his family. He was the ultimate fan of his nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews, rarely missing a chance to support and celebrate them from the stands in all of their athletic endeavors. He will always be remembered for his deep love of sports and his unwavering devotion to the kids he loved so much.
Victor is survived by his beloved mother, Guadalupe Flores of Rock Island; and his loving sisters, Mona Mejia of Rock Island, Beatriz (Alex) Vasquez of Davenport, and Benita (Tana) Flores of Davenport. He also leaves behind a legacy of love in his many cherished nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ramon Flores, and his grandparents.
Victor is loved deeply and will be missed greatly by all who knew him, but his family takes comfort in knowing he is peacefully at home with his Lord.
A memorial service to celebrate Victor's life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Templo Alabanza: Temple of Praise - Spanish Mennonite Church, located at 613 3rd St, Moline, IL 61265. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the church, where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and fellowship.
