Vincent Bruce McConoughey,98,of East Moline,passed away at Heartland Nursing Care Home on Friday, April 22, 2011. Vincent was born on May 10,1912,in Silvis, IL,to Owen and Geneva Frye McConoughey. He and his wife Leona Mary Brady, who preceded him in death, had two boys, Kenneth and Gerald. He graduated from Moline High School in 1930 and spent three years in the CCC,National Guard,and playing football for the Silvis Bears, before getting a full time job at the International Harvester Plant in East Moline. He worked there 42 years,retiring in 1975 as a general foreman. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, swimming, and running. He was active in the Knights of Columbus, Moose, Elks and other local organizations. Vincent is survived by his two sons, two brothers(spouse), Raymond(MaryJo) and Jack(Becky) and 7 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. A memorial mass will be held on Sat, May 7, 2011, at 10:00 AM at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial will follow at St Mary's Cemetery, East Moline.
