Viola A. Deal , 91, of East Moline, IL, passed away Monday March 3, 2025, at Generations, Rock Island, IL.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, with visitation one hour prior to services. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Generations of Rock Island.

Viola was born May 8, 1933, in Pierz, Minnesota, one of six children born to Herbert and Johanna (Pella) Stangl. She married Robert E. Deal on December 29, 1954, in West Liberty, Iowa.

Viola was a salesclerk in the men's wear department of J.C. Penny for many years.

In earlier years, she was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino boat.

Surviving are her daughters, Cheri Nelsen, Rock Island, IL and Barbara Deal, East Moline, IL; grandchildren, Matthew Nelsen, Davenport, IA and Miranda (Dave) Vinar, Rock Island; great grandchildren, Ford Vinar and Finley Vinar, and many nieces, nephews, and other family.

Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; two daughters, Janice Deal and Sandy Deal; three brothers; and two sisters.
