Funeral services for Virginia R. Sanders, 91, of Moline, IL, formerly of Aurora, IL, will be 2:00PM Sunday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be 10:30AM Monday at River Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, North Aurora, IL. Mrs. Sanders died Monday, January 24, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or to the Dutch Memorial Fund For Injured Or Abused Animals. Virginia Letts was born May 18, 1919 in Belvidere, IL, the daughter of John and Amelia Leilea Letts. She married Frank W. Sanders August 1, 1949 in Belvidere. He died in 1995. She and her husband had owned and operated Wee Modern Children's Store, Aurora, IL. She later worked at Ann Marie's Boutique in Aurora. Virginia was proud of her Swedish heritage. One of the special moments in her life was meeting the king and queen of Sweden at Augustana College, Rock Island, IL. The most important thing in her life was her love of God and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She would always say "her heart was big enough for everyone." Survivors include, her daughters, Lana (Richard) Bauman of East Moline, Danette Lambert of Georgia; grandchildren, Vicki (Shane) Spencer of Everly, IA, Jennifer (Jon) Smith of Geneseo, IL; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Allison Spencer, Morgan and Carson Smith; nieces, nephews and many friends.
