Funeral services for Virginia R. Adams, 97, formerly of East Moline, IL, will be 11:00AM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 9:30AM until service time Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Adams died Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Champaign County Nursing Home, Campaign, IL. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, East Moline, where she had been a member. Virginia Birkhead was born December 19, 1915 in Winfield, MO, the daughter of Mahlon and Maude Miller Birkhead. She married C. Clifford Adams August 23, 1947 in East Moline. He died July 5, 2003. She was a graduate of Missouri Business School, St. Louis, MO, and had worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in St. Louis. Survivors include her sons, Robert, Prescott, AZ, and Kent, Champaign, IL, three grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Muriel Birkhead, MO.
