Virginia L. C. Turner, 82, East Moline, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at her home. Funeral services are 10 AM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family. She was born December 25, 1935 in East Moline, the daughter of Leonard and Rosalie (Brown) Sunblade. She graduated 6th in her Class of 1954 from UTHS, and was the captain of the basketball team. She married Merle L. Turner in 1955 and together they had 4 children. She was a member of Full Gospel Church of God in Silvis and most recently at New Life Fellowship Church in Moline. Throughout her life she served as a youth pastor, Sunday school teacher, worship leader and was a bible scholar who taught bible studies. She enjoyed sewing, drawing, artwork, singing, travel, but most of all spending time with her family. Virginia was very handy and a jack-of-all trades. Survivors include her children, Cynthia (Dave) Goellnitz, North English, IA, Daniel (Patricia) Turner, Coal Valley, Catherine (John) Kerch, Moline and Carolyn (Rick) Deere, Bettendorf, grandchildren, Amber, Jason, Joshua (Porsche), Hannah, John and Joel and great grandchildren, Archer and Finn. She was preceded in death by her parents, step father James Dunford Sr., siblings, Kenneth Sunblade, James Dunford Jr., and Juanita Kutzman.
