Virginia L. Lackey, 88, of Moline passed away Friday June 23, 2017 at Illini Restorative Care Center in Silvis. Her memorial service will be 7:00PM Monday June 26, 2017 at St. John's Lutheran Church in East Moline. The family will host a time of reception from 6:00PM to 7:00PM prior to services at the church where memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or Quad City Animal Welfare Center in Milan. Graveside services will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery at a later date. Virginia was born February 21, 1929 in Mystic, IA a daughter of Oliver and Leona (Cate) Jones. She married Paul Lackey on August 5, 1948 in Galesburg. He passed away January 31, 1990. She enjoyed her chihuahuas, and loved spending time with her family. She was member of St. John's Lutheran Church in East Moline. Mrs. Lackey is survived by: 5 children: Steven (Diana) Lackey of Silvis, Barbara (Bryan) McSparin of Norfolk, AR, Paul (Nancy) Lackey of Moline, Dean (Shellie) Lackey of Alton, IL, and Dennis Lackey of Beverly Hills, FL; 11 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren, one sister: Catherine Rieger of Silvis; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Belvia Mattly, a grandson: Robert Kyser, and a brother: Harold Jones.
