Virginia Simms, of Hampton, IL passed away on September 16, 2012 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA. Funeral services are 11 AM Thursday at Mark's Mortuary, Wood River, IL. Burial is in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens, Bethalto, IL. Visitation is 5-8PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Virginia was born March 15, 1936 in Moline, the daughter of Kenneth and Lovell Kessinger. She married James Simms on July 31, 1954 in Wood River, IL. She leaves behind, children, LuAnn (John) Hunsaker, Wichita Falls, TX, Martin (Kim) Simms, Port Byron, IL, grandchildren, Shannon (Lester) Givens, Jason (Jessica) Hunsaker, Brandon (Alicia) Simms, Kristin (Danny) Niemi, nine great grandchildren, and brothers Kenneth (Ann) Kessinger and Bob (Ruby) Kessinger. Virginia and Jim enjoyed spending their winters in Florida and playing golf. Virginia's family would like to thank Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for their compassion and loving care.
