Funeral services for Virginia Mae Tipsword, 73, of Silvis, IL, will be 11:00AM Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, East Moline, IL. Entombment will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Mrs. Tipsword died Saturday, January 11, 2014, at her home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Diabetes Association. Virginia Willemkens was born June 2, 1940, in Moline, IL, the daughter of John and Lena Versluis Willemkens. She married Terry L. Tipsword July 21, 1956, in Silvis. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who adored her grandchildren. She enjoyed doing ceramics and was quite talented at it. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Terry Tipsword, Silvis; daughter, Jan Ryan, Lyndon, IL; son, Gary (Kaylinda) Tipsword, Washington, IL; grandchildren, Jason (Nika) Tipsword, Ryan Tipsword, Sean Ryan, and, Kyle Tipsword; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Willemkens, Moline, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Richard Willemkens.
