Funeral services for Walter Carl Kays Jr., 73, East Moline, are 10 AM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, East Moline, or to the American Lung Association. Walt died Saturday, January 28, 2006 at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis. Walter was born September 29, 1932 in Princeton, IN, the son of Walter Kays and Corlinda (Tisdal) Kays Sr. He married Sharon Tisdale on December 18, 1965 in Galesburg, IL. He retired in 1994 as a punch press operator from East Moline Metal Products, Inc. Survivors (and spouses) include his wife of 40 years Sharon, children; Lori (Mike) Spray, Taylor Ridge, IL, Kevin Lothridge, Silvis, Kelly Sims, Moline, Karen (Doug) Lanzen, Port Byron, IL, Rebecca Kays, Carbon Cliff, IL, ten grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, sisters Anna (Edward) Johnson, Shirley (Eddie) Massey, both of Granite City, IL, Rosetta (Terry) Zink, Collinsville, IL; brothers Jerry Kays, Silvis, and Robert (Sharon) Kays, Granite City and several nieces and nephews.
