Funeral services for Walter Mee, 98, of Rock Island, IL, will be 1:00PM Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Tuesday. Mr. Mee died Thursday. April 8, 2010 at St. Anthony's Continuing Care Center, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family. Walter was born December 3, 1911 in Moline, IL, the son of Hiram and Mable Cole Mee. He married Bertha Blackburn in December of 1945. She died n 1984. He retired from John Deere Plow Planter, Moline, in 1970, after 40 years of service. Family was a very important part of Walter's life. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and tinkering around his house fixing "this and that." He was a Die Hard Chicago Cubs Fan. Survivors include children, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, stepdaughter, Nancy Mee, and grandson, Larry Mee.
