Funeral services for Walter "Walt" Zegarac, 85, of East Moline, IL, will be 11:00AM Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00AM Tuesday prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hampton Township Cemetery, Hampton, IL. Mr. Zegarac died Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Parkview Terrace, East Moline. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the Parkview Activities Fund. Walt was born June 25, 1924 in Blue Island, IL, the son of Eli and Mary Uzelac Zegarac. He married Susanne Lamb August 5, 1950 at Port Byron Congregational Church, Port Byron, IL. She died January 2, 2001. Walt served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from the Phillips Petroleum Company, Bettendorf, IA in 1990 after 38 years of service. Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Craig DeBo of Bettendorf, IA, Mary and Mitch Epner of New York, NY; 4 grandchildren; sisters, Sadie Tomich of East Moline, Stella Falkinburg of Moline, IL, Millie DeLeu of East Moline; brothers and sister-in-law, Nick Churuvia, East Moline, Mike and Margaret Churuvia East Moline; sister-in-law, Virginia Churuvia of East Moline.
