Wayne D. Gillman, 69, East Moline, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at his home. Funeral services are 11 AM Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Entombment is in St. Mary's Mausoleum. Visitation is 2-5PM Sunday at the funeral home, where a prayer service will be held at 4:30PM. Memorials may be made to Children's Therapy Center, Moline. Wayne "Dobie" was born on January 1, 1944 in Moline, the son of Ambrose A and Lila C (Heming) Gillman. He married Delight Jones on September 5, 1970 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Moline. Dobie served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He enjoyed playing disc golf, euchre, shooting pool and an occasional trip to the local casinos. He was a member of the Moline Viking Club and enjoyed going to the YMCA and taking his dog for a walk. Mr. Gillman retired in 1997 from John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline. Wayne will always be remembered for his smile. Survivors include his wife, Delight, brother, Robert (Jo) Gillman, Bettendorf, nephews, Chris (Barb) Gillman and Rob (Brenda) Gillman and great nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Bob and Jo, Tammy, Joan, Gloria, Nancy, W.K. Genny, Ann, and the Girls in TCU at Unity Point, Rock Island.
