Wendell H. Grasz , 86, of Silvis, IL, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024, in Silvis.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, IL. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, January 3rd, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Wendell was born October 14, 1938, in Hallam, NE, to Herman and Eleanor (Heller) Grasz. He married C. Louise Moxham on July 2, 1960, in Lincoln, NE.

He honorably served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves. Wendell graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska in 1964.

He was an engineer and worked for Beckman Instruments, Control Data, and retired from the Sandberg Co./Bornquist, Inc.

He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline, (ASHRAE)American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Exchange Club of the Quad Cities and UT Band Boosters when his children were in High School.

Surviving are his wife, Louise, of Silvis; son, Jeffery Grasz (Lori Stephenson-Grasz), Oceanside, CA; daughter, Jody Potter, East Moline; grandchildren, Jeremy Grasz, Oceanside, Elizabeth (Danny) Grasz-Munoz, Oceanside, Melody (Matthew) Crawford, Thornton, CO, Stephen Grasz, San Diego, CA, Kyle (Heather) Irby, Colona, IL, and Samantha Irby, Rock Island, IL; great grandchildren, Josiah, Kinley, Drayton, Lenox, Brooks and Brinley.

Wendell was preceded in death by his son, Michael J. Grasz; son-in-law, David Potter; parents, Herman and Eleanor; and his brother, Melvin Grasz.
