Graveside services for Wesley Garmon, 65, of East Moline, IL, will be 11:30 AM Friday at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00-11:00AM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Anyone wishing to attend the graveside service should be at the funeral home by 11:00AM. Wesley died Monday, November 4, 2013, at his home. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family. Wes was born December 28, 1947, in Moline, IL, the son of Gillus and Essie Huff Garmon. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He married Frieda Utz October 1, 1971, in Germany. He retired from the Rock Island Arsenal, where he had been a machinist. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Frieda Garmon, East Moline; daughter, Claudia Brewer (Richard Lesley), Moline, IL; granddaughter, Brittany Brewer, Moline; sister, Margie (Clifford) May, Colona, IL, Coral (Steve) Clark, Silvis, IL, and Sheryl (Ken) Himebaugh, Moline; brother, LaVern (Laura) Garmon, Geneseo, IL; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his special buddy, Cisco his dog. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to thank the staff of the Bettendorf and Iowa City VA Clinics, and the Silvis Kidney Center for their special care.
