William J. Dumolien, 70, of Moline, IL, passed away March 17, 2026, in Huntington Beach, CA.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 11th, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, IL. Entombment will be at St. Mary Cemetery, East Moline. A rosary will be recited at 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 10th, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, with visitation following from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of Allen Dumolien, to be designated for William’s grandchildren’s education.
William (Bill) was born January 27, 1956, in Moline, Illinois, to Albert and Della (Dilulio) Dumolien.
Bill majored in Mechanical Engineering at University of Illinois and earned master’s degree in Industrial Engineering / Operations Research from University of Illinois and master’s degree in Business Administration from University of Iowa. He worked as an Engineer and Project Manager for Deere & Company his entire 42 year career at Deere Harvester, Deere and Company World Headquarters, and then Davenport Works.
Bill loved making music and was extremely talented on the keys. He played organ and piano at church, weddings, other special occasions, and played keyboards in his former bands, Second Chance and Threshold. Bill also played flute and trumpet in the Alleman Catholic High School marching band.
His favorite times were those spent with family and friends, especially in his retirement watching his grandchildren grow up and attending their sporting events.
Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Melinda Dumolien, Huntington Beach; grandchildren, Brayden and Blake Dumolien, Huntington Beach; brothers, Tom (Kay) Dumolien, Gilbert, AZ, and Tony Dumolien, Colona, IL; and many nieces, nephews, and their families.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Della; and sister-in-law, Linda Dumolien.
